BIO

My Winding Career Path to Becoming an Author

I am a retired lawyer, professor and teacher, as well as the founder and executive director of a small nonprofit that works in Ethiopia. My husband and I live outside of Washington, DC and also love to spend time at the Delaware shore where I have just finished my second novel.

Pandemic Gifts

Like many of us of a certain age, during the pandemic I found myself trapped at home with time on my hands. I joined a wonderful writing group and down the rabbit hole I went. After two long winters spent living in the fictional small town of Poplar Point with my new imaginary best friends, Alice and Helen, a novel, Joint Venture, was born and self-published.

I'm Not Done Yet

Without the enforced solitude of the pandemic, it has taken me a lot longer than I expected to complete my second novel. I have moved to another small fictional town and immersed myself in the complicated lives of the wealthy Bartley family. I now have a polished first draft and have decided to emabark on the daunting task of finding an agent and publisher, rather than self-publishing. I will keep you posted. Any suggestions, send them my way!.
